Rose Hilgartner called the HZBA meeting to order on January 9, 2003 at 7:10 p.m.

Old business:
1. Membership drive and renewal - no discussion.
2. Christmas Raffle Basket - John Mays reported that HZBA sold $503 worth of tickets ($1 per ticket). He congratulated everyone on their salesmanship. He would like to do this twice per year and he would be glad to Chair the effort. A date needs to be set for the presentation of the check to the Hereford Volunteer Fire Department. We need to get a picture so that it can be posted on the Website and also sent to the North County News.
3. HZBA Directory: Cathy Cooper reported that the current estimated costs to print and distribute the Directory are about $2700 (depending on the printing costs). We need 30 advertisers to break eve. We have 18 ads so far and of these 18 11 have already paid their $90 per ad. Henry Rosendale made a motion that the deadline for accepting the last ad is Feb 13, 2003 (our next meeting). Al Copp made a second to the motion.
4. Sponsor Lists for various fundraisers - Let Rose Hilgartner know the sponsors so that she can send a Thank You card or certificate to them.
5. Annual Report - If you input regarding the annual report that Rose Hilgartner distributed in December 2002, please let her know.
6. Election results - Henry Rosendale presented the following results:
   a. President - Rose Hilgartner
   b. Vice President - David Cavey
   c. Secretary - Sharon Devin
   d. Member at Large - Bill Norris
7. Installation of Officers - to be installed in the future

New Business:
1. What would you like to see happen in the coming year? More active with Food Banks, Welcome Wagon for new area residents, More active in Hereford Festival. Other suggestions are welcome, please inform Rose Hilgartner.
2. Membership Chair Bill Norris - No report. Bill was unable to attend the meeting.
3. Food Bank contest public awareness - Rose will match in either pounds of food or dollar value the amount of food that HZBA members contribute to the Food Bank (which Food Bank??) during the year. She will do the match in December 2003. Someone in HZBA probably needs to Chair this effort.

Committee Reports:
Treasurer report:
1. Jeanne Reynolds could not attend so Rose presented the treasurer report.

Web Site update:
1. Missing names: Website has been updated.
2. Membership: Renewal notices have been mailed. Future renewal memberships will be mailed in the month in which they are due.
3. Each member should begin considering a banner ad to be placed on our web site. At the moment there is no charge for this advertising. The banner ad should be 500 by 100 pixels.
